Wave spring as a precision flat wire Compression spring, it is designed to replace conventional round wire Compression Springs, composed of a number of peaks and troughs of thin sheet ring elastic metal element, It has a superior working intensity ratio and only requires half of the working height of the traditional spring. With the advantages of large stiffness range, variable stiffness characteristics, compact structure and strong impact resistance, it is widely used in aerospace, precision machinery, hydraulic seals and high-end motors and other fields.
Wave disc springs occupy a very small area relative to the amount of work they can perform. Wavy washer can reduce the size and weight of the assembly by as much as 50%. In fact, depending on the design parameters, they can occupy 30-50% of the compressed height space of comparable round wire springs offering more deflection with the same load specifications.
